I Know You Wanna Leave Me, But I Refuse To Let You Go: Being Mary Jane Recap

Drama. Sex. Gossip. Ahh, sounds like the perfect recipe for a good show!

It's safe to say that Being Mary Jane is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows on the air, next to Scandal, of course. Though Mary Jane is entertaining, it is a show that women can relate to in one way or another. It's raw, but it reveals real life situations. One thing that really stuck out in last night's episode was the situation between Avery and Andre. She basically confronts her husband about his cheating and wants him to sign a post-nup that states he'll never cheat again. If he does, she will take the two houses, kids, and 75% of his firm.. Basically, a "there is no way you are leaving me without paying an ultimate price" agreement. It was almost like a threat. I understand that she's hurting. It sucks. BUT you can't threaten to take someone's money, kids, and whatever else, just so they stay with you. I mean, you could, but they wouldn't be with you because they wanted to. If someone wants to leave, let them leave. If they don't want you any more, that's just the ugly truth.  People are free to do as they choose, and, sometimes, during the process, feelings are hurt and hearts are disposed of like cheap pantyhose.

Avery said that she made Andre into who he is now because when she met him, he was nothing. She invested her time and energy into him, in order to make him into who he is today. She wasn't willing to give that up because then she would have to start over with someone new. Andre, on the other hand, would just be living it up. So many people think like this because no one truly wants to start over. They would much rather the person they love to get their act together, but unfortunately, that does not seem to be happening.  When you think of all the time you've invested in one person to going back to those, "So what's your favorite color and what do you like to do" icebreaker conversations, like Porsha thinking the Underground Railroad was an actual railroad, it's very disappointing. BUT not more disappointing than staying with somebody who does not want you. Like the old people used to say, "You can't keep something that does not want to be kept." As hard as it is to let go, it's the best thing to do. You can try to get the person to take a walk with you down memory lane. You know, moonwalk down "Remember The Times" Terrace, or take a left  on "I Was There From The Beginning" Boulevard, but if that person just does not have those feelings for you anymore, you'll just have keep moving down  "Damn, I Have To Move On" Drive. Accept it for what it is. You will find someone else who loves you AND your stretch marks in ALL their glory! If you can pull one, you can pull another. It is not impossible. Whatever you do, do not try to force someone to stay with you.You don't want someone to be with you out of pity. Everyone deserves to be with somebody who wants to be with them just as much. Sometimes you have to let go of one thing to receive something better. That's just how life goes.

As for Avery and Andre, I am eager to see what happens in their marriage and where little Mary Jane will fall into the puzzle! We have six more episodes to go. What do you think will happen? Will Andre leave Avery? Do you think Andre really loves Mary Jane? Will Mary Jane accept his proposal? Just thinking about all of that makes me tired! Lord, prepare our hearts for it all!
