A "Hairy" Issue??

If you have been keeping up with gymnastics in the Olympics, the name Gabby Douglas is one that you have surely heard more than once. She's 16 and won the all around Olympic gold. In fact, she is the first African American to win that title. You would think that people would focus on her accomplishments! But oh no! People choose to focus on other things, like her hair!

People took to Twitter, blasting Douglas about how she wears her hair. This girl just broke records and folks are concerned about her hair?! What the heck?! That girl just made history, and people choose to talk about how she has her hair gelled back! If she wanted to walk in that gymnasium bald, braids to the back, or even plaited like Snoop Dogg, what does it matter?

Douglas googled herself after she had made history and saw all the comments regarding her hair. Of course she was confused because she doesn't think anything is wrong with her hair, and that's all that matters. As long as she likes it, that's fine. Nobody's saying anything about all these people with these big Poetic Justice braids, bad sew ins, and 27 pieces looking foolish. Point blank, her hair should not even be an issue.

Douglas responded by saying, "You might as well just stop talking about it. I don't think people should be worried about my hair. I just say it's kind of stupid a stupid crazy thought to think about my hair." I couldn't agree with Gabby more. After all, with that gelled style she has made history and is about to make millions. With those bad quick weaves, awful sew-ins, and jumbo braids gone wrong, what have you done?? Take your time.. I'll wait..
